The SMOK Stick One Basic Kit is a great introductory device, or a great second device for the seasoned vaper. The Stick One Basic Kit comes complete with a new 2200mAh ‘eGo Cloud’ battery, a new and modified version of its very popular TFV4 Tank called the TFV4 Nano, and two different types of coils – a pre-installed micro CLP2 Clapton coil (0.3 ohm) and an STC2 0.25 ohm stainless steel coil. It also comes with a charging cable (USB) a dust cap made out of silicon, a vape band which is rather decorative and pleasing to the eye, a user manual, and a ton of spare o-rings.
For its price, the Stick One Basic Starter Kit is a really good deal. Its design is sleek and minimal, making it a lot more inconspicuous and discrete than most other devices on the market. The cylindrical eGo Cloud battery is reminiscent of the original eGo-style batteries, but bears a couple of small but notable improvements, such as an LED battery indicator located directly above the on button, and a charging LED located at the back of the device that lets you know it is receiving a charge. It has only one button on it – the on, or ‘firing’ button, which gives it a delightfully refreshing simplicity, especially since many devices are becoming unnecessarily complicated and convoluted. The firing button will also turn the device on and off if pressed 5 times in quick succession. All this means that you just vape, quietly and comfortably, with very few if any choices to make. I a world choked with choice and flooded with information, this is, in my opinion, its greatest forte and most obvious selling point.
As previously indicated, the tank – the TFV4 Nano – is a downsized version of the SMOK TFV4 tank. It has an ample juice capacity – 2 mL – a top filling system (just like its older cousin, the TFV4) and a bottom-centric airflow control system that relies on four cyclops slots and a protective drip tip to avoid the all-too-common issue of lip burn with which every seasoned vaper is unfortunately all too familiar. The tank is composed of stainless steel and glass and benefits from the reliable and popular technology inherent to the TFV4 coil-head, albeit in this new, skinnied-down incarnation. SMOK, which is based in China, has released only two different types of these coils to date, but more iterations are sure to follow, especially given the popularity of the design among their customer base.
